🎯 Aim of the Game

To complete the game, build and change words using all the tiles to build valid words on the 11 x 11 word grid.

Use all of the 64 letter tiles to build words in the word grid — within the set number of words selected at the start. Note game statistics in top right corner.

🔤 The Tiles

The game uses 64 letter tiles including 2 wildcard tiles. Each day every user gets the same tiles in the same order. Six tiles are available in the letter bank, which is re-filled when you use them in valid words on the grid. You can also re-use any tiles already in play on the grid, to new, longer words to keep your word count down.

Wildcard tiles can be re-used over and over again

The letter bank will only re-fill if when all of the words on the grid are valid.

⚡ Difficulty
Mode Word Limit Challenge
Hard 10 words Fewer, longer words needed — more planning required
Easy 12 words A little more breathing room — good for beginners
▶ How to Play
  1. 1
Tap tiles in your letter bank to select them. They appear in the Select Letters area. You need at least 2 letters to make a word. Press Go to place the word into the word grid. Proper nouns are not allowed — the game will let you know if a word is refused for this reason. However, it is always worth trying as some proper nouns also have other meanings. To deselect a refused word, tap each letter individually to remove them, or press Reset Turn to start fresh.
  2. 2
In your 6-tile letter bank, letters are automatically replaced as and when you use them. However, replacement will be paused if your word count has been exceeded, or if there are lone letters in the word area (which will show up shaded pink) that are not part of any word — tidy these up first to continue.
  3. 3
Continue building words, rearranging letters, and using all your tiles. When you're finished, press End Game.
⬜ The Word Grid

Words are placed into a 12 × 12 grid and will be automatically placed in available spaces and order.

Select letters from your bank tiles, to combine them with letters from existing grid words, to form new, longer words, breaking up and rebuilding as you go. You will need to break up and combine existing selected words as shown in example below.

★ Blank (Wildcard) Tiles

The two blank tiles (shown as ★) can represent any letter you choose. When you tap a blank, a letter picker appears so you can assign it the letter you need. Once assigned, the blank remains highlighted so you can easily identify it again later.

Tip: If a blank is being used in a word and later that same letter appears in your letter bank, you can free up the blank by reselecting all the letters of that word — replacing the blank with the real tile from your bank. This releases the blank for use elsewhere. If a lone blank in the word area is causing you to exceed your word limit, a handy trick is to assign it as an S and place it on the end of any existing word — it sits there harmlessly and can be recovered and reassigned at any time.

  • S
Stuck Stack — If you can't make a word with your current 6 tiles, press Stuck Stack. This deals 6 new tiles on top of your existing ones.
  • R
Reset Turn — returns everything back to how it was when the last word was placed. Use this if you've made a mess and want a fresh start.
  • G
Go — places your selected letters as a word into the next available space in the word grid.
💡 Tips for Success
  • 1
Try to make longer words early — it uses more tiles per word and leaves you more breathing room at the end.
  • 2
Don't forget you can break up existing words in the grid and recombine their letters with your bank tiles to make completely new words.
  • 3
If you do use a blank tile, give some thought to how you might expand that word later — blanks used in short words can be harder to recover.
  • 4
Use Reset Turn freely — it's there to help when you've pulled letters out of words and can't quite make them work.
  • 5
The last few tiles are always the hardest. Be patient — the solution is always there!
